PARENT Mentoring PROGRAM
"Working together to support and strengthen families." |
The mission of the Parent Support Program is to support and strengthen families by providing encouragement and information to expectant parents and parents with young children. This is accomplished through mentoring relationships and group activities within the community. |
This program supports parents-to-be and parents with young children through one-to-one mentoring relationships.
Home visiting and community activities offer parents a chance to share with each other, learn new skills and have a good time.
Parents have opportunity to learn more about:
- adjusting to parenthood
- usual child behaviors
- budgeting
- healthy lifestyle choices
- typical child behaviors
- community resources
- Services are offered in a confidential and non-judgmental manner.
- Parent Support home visitors are screened, receive training and have parenting experience.
- Parents who are expecting a baby or parenting at least one child 5 years or under can self refer to the program.
- There is no fee for this service.
